Our handcrafted pieces are designed to withstand regular use. We want you to enjoy them on a daily or seasonal basis, and easily care for them when ‘life happens’. Here are some recommendations, by generalized product type. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us.

Sawdust

#1 - avoid standing water/condensation (that’s why we offer felted coasters and table protectors!)

Furniture

Furniture is typically finished with hand-rubbed natural oils and waxes.  These can be renewed at home using products easily obtained at hardware stores, as opposed to sprayed lacquer finishes.  For the most part, all that is required is periodic dusting, but furniture benefits from an occasisonal  'refresh' using a liquid oil/wax blend, applied with a soft cloth.

Platters/Bowls

As with furniture, platters and bowls are ordinary finished with natural oils and wax, but use “food-safe” blends (e.g., butcher block oil). [more detail coming soon!]

Lint

#1 - pummeling softens cloth (that’s why we make throws and pillows. We want you to be comfortable, and adjust as necessary)

Throws

Throws can be thrown, dragged & crumpled. Under ordinary use, just shake them out now & then.  Let the lint fly.  It’s all good. If ‘something’ happened, YES, throw them in a (front load) washing machine, on gentle or hand wash cycle. (Actual hand washing is fine too).  Dry flat if possible or supported on a rack or rope line. Wrinkles/creases, if any, from drying will work their way out, but iron if you like, low heat.  DO NOT USE A DRYER.  Throws can be dry cleaned, but it is not necessary.
